The City of Freiburg is located in the EU-Interreg Alpine Space and is a member of the Alpine Space Programme, a European transnational cooperation programme. The program provides a framework to facilitate cooperation between economic, social and environmental players in seven Alpine countries. Through the Interreg-Project Greencycle, Freiburg is strengthening the Circular Economy through strategies that build on their best practice examples in waste management, energy, mobility/transport, construction.
