This tender aims to support local supply chains to provide healthy and sustainable products – fresh meat, fruits, and vegetables – to primary and nursery schools in the Bath & North East Somerset area of England. Extensive market engagement informed the direction and specifications to ensure the contract was fit for the purpose and vendors could support it. The result was a joint procurement that consolidated orders and delivery system to reduce the distance travelled and fuel consumed, which positively impacted CO2 and other pollutant emissions.
