For this opportunity, Scottish Procurement used a purchasing framework for energy-efficient client computer systems. The aim was to expand on the government’s previous agreements, which considered corporate social responsibility to focus more on environmental risks and socio-economic opportunities. Scottish Procurement used a prioritization and life cycle mapping tool to inform the development of specifications. As a result, the final procurement requirements focused on energy efficiency, product lifecycle, fleet management, innovative packaging, and end-of-life management with an emphasis on repair, refurbishment, and reuse of devices.
