The Way Forward On Climate Change in Newfoundland and Labrador

Government of Newfoundland and Labrador

To address and mitigate climate change in Newfoundland and Labrador, the province has set a 5-year action plan which includes eight focus areas with specific outcomes for each area. The plan recognizes the importance of government to lead by example which includes procurement as an opportunity to integrate climate change considerations in to procurement processes to reduce GHG emissions, build resiliency and transform markets. As part of the Clean Economy focus area, the “Buying Green: A Guide for Purchasing Environmentally Preferred Products” was developed to support better integration of climate change considerations into procurement.
