This project aims to overcome preconceived notions about using recycled concrete in building construction. The project also aimed to stimulate demand for recycled concrete as a circular input in the construction market. As a result of the pilot’s success and subsequent uses, the City of Berlin requires recycled concrete to be used in all public high-rise construction projects. This is expected to replace approximately 100,000m3 of standard concrete annually.
